If you try, you can use as an adverb --
A noun, an adjective or whatever,
Give the "lee" in tenderly a face-life,
It may wind up as, "Love Me Tender,"
If the gender is unknown, in this English of ours,
Am I sexist if I use the word "him?"
Is it wrong to say, "Loose as a long-necked goose?"
