There is a place to find sweet rest
At the end of life's busy day.
There'll be no one to criticize
If we've ever forgotten to pray.
We will only remember the good times --
Our memory will color the past.
There'll be no painful recriminations --
Any momentary sorrow won't last.
We'll find that all the pleasantries
That have come our way have been stored.
There will be only golden stars recorded
Near our names on that glittering scoreboard.
Every favor we have received
Thru the years has been carefully noted.
Fond memories known to only a few
Will seem like leaves gently floated.
When I lay me down to die, dear Lord
Let me feel You close by my side.
May I enter the gates of Heaven before
The Devil knows that I've died.
