CHRISTMAS AT LAST

No more waiting for gift-giving day.
No more listening for bells and a sleigh.

Mommy and Daddy are still fast asleep,
I'll go downstairs and have a peep.

I see tinsel and glitter all around.
Mustn't wake my parents -- nary a sound.

Sister has beaten me to the punch --
One of hers is a box for her lunch.

I find a tall one with a card and my name --
Wheels at the bottom -- it's sure not a game.

Handlebars at the top, but no place to sit --
I now see clearly: the long-awaited "It."
