Don't weep for the days that might have been,
Rejoice for the days that were,
I never wished for the world on a platter,
My motivation was pure,
The fewer one's days, the more precious,
Cherished memories are something to smile at,
My only regret is taking the ladies
And not hiring a senior copilot,
My goal has been simple, to create a milieu
Where all could find political rapport,
Too many give politics a bad name,
I'd no wish to become just one more,
I looked thru life for my own niche,
George was a venue for wit,
Flowers plucked before their time
Are no less beautiful for it,
A productive life is not wasted
By pursuing one's inner peace,
The goal was in sight with my magazine,
A personal Golden Fleece.
