THE BOOK OF PHILOPHELES

1. There are a variety of possible computers. It would be possible to build a computer that is mostly or entirely mechanical. It is certainly possible, as is generally done, to build computers that are electro-mechanical. It would also be possible to build a computer that operated hydraulically. Two other possibilities are biologically operated computers and chemically operated computers. It happens that life forms function by means of electro-chemical and electro-biological mechanisms.

2. The only reality that is absolute is the realm of the Creator. The Creator has created His own physical world, known only to Him. He has created a mechanism, much like our computers, that can execute programs. All programs are abstract entities. The meaning of anything in His hardware or software, as well as its name is assigned by, and known only to, Him.

3. The program running in the Creator's Quasi-Computer creates at least one Virtual Universe in which everything that exists or moves, even space-time itself is virtual. Running under His Reality Emulation software, man occupies an environment that is, in general, undetectably virtual. The virtual nature of the Universe becomes apparent to man only when something happens that defies the laws of physics, logic or mathematics. It is seldom, if ever, possible, to tell with certainty, the difference between an event occurring as a result of normal physical laws and probabilities and one caused by God. Sometimes, all that is known is that something miraculous happened and defied explanation. When an event can be explained, man is unable to detect the virtual nature of his environment. Since reality is virtual, rather than absolute, any conceivable event can happen, no matter how unlikely. Most of the time the Universe, with all its physical manifestations, seems to chug along without any obvious need of a Creator. God gave man the ability to understand everything, including his own creation. This is the end result of man's partaking of the forbidden fruit of the tree of life. Unfortunately, for man's habitually logical minds, the secrets of life are a rich blend of normal physical events, and occurrences that defy all rational explanation. Life itself is a miracle of God. The cell is the seat of all life. Every aspect of life is a result of DNA originated software, using the cell's own mechanisms to invoke the stunningly powerful programs available through Virtual Reality Emulation. The result is the carrying out of the desired tasks, i.e. replication of DNA, moving nucleotides, linking molecules, changing the nature of the cells produced, dividing, etc. Mankind will never know the origin of the first cell. It contained, as all cells do, a powerful chemical computer as well as incredibly complex DNA. Not very many of the meanings within DNA will ever be known. Most are, as is the software contained in the Virtual Reality Emulation program, written in language that is akin to the identity of the man who rests in The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier: "Known only to God."
